Friends of the OHIO RIVER GREENWAY

The Friends of the Ohio River Greenway is a volunteer group (non-profit application pending) created to support the Ohio River Greenway, a seven-mile connector along the Ohio River between Jeffersonville, Clarksville and New Albany, Ind. The greenway is currently under construction (and so is our Web site).

Why a friends group?

That’s easy. Because the Greenway is a complex project that relies on federal funding with a local match, it can be difficult to keep up with what’s actually going on. We’re here to help educate and inform.

The Friends group can also accept donations, which will be tax deductible, but most importantly, we hope to generate enthusiasm for this important project, which will enhance the quality of life not only in Southern Indiana but in the entire Metro Louisville region. That’s also important. Even if you don’t live in Clarksville, Jeffersonville or New Albany, this project is for you.

Imagine taking a jog or riding your bike from downtown Louisville, across the river to Indiana, back across to Kentucky in one grand loop. That is the vision. But we need you to help make it a reality. Thanks for visiting our site. Please come back often, please sign up to be a Friend of the Ohio River Greenway, and please spread the word.
